About this Event

Salford Workers Development Day

Tuesday 21st January 2020

9.30 am – 4.00pm

Following on from the recent Salford workers development day in June 2019, we are pleased to announce a follow up day based on some of the feedback received from the evaluations. The event is again aimed at front line practitioners based in Salford, working with children, young people and families.

The aim of this event is to build on your understanding of trauma and how it affects family dynamics and behaviour. You will leave with practical knowledge and skills to use with the children, young people and families you work with.

The day will consist of:

• Two lectures on Trauma, children, young people and families

• Six workshops (these may be subject to change):

• Domestic Violence and the impact on CYP mental health

• De-escalation approaches of young people presenting in crisis

• Brief overview of non-violent resistant approaches

• Supporting children, young people and families from Salford’s Jewish community

• Solution focused approach to managing trauma

• Emotional Coaching – Parenting technique

This day is an opportunity to network, reflect on practice and share expertise, thus enabling you to improve your approach to supporting children, young people and families in Salford.

This free interactive development day is aimed at all front line practitioners and managers that work with children, young people and families in Salford
