Walk Leader Rosemary Pemberton

Our walk starts in the Northwest Corner of the Friary Precinct by visiting the interior of Windover House to see it's surprising 16th C courtyard and 17th C staircase. The walk then takes us around the perimeter of the ancient Friary, learning of its buildings, what became of its extensive grounds and seeing its listed east wall. We will then visit the mysterious 15th C doorway in the grounds of Vale House, see inside the Gothic style Blackmore Museum (now flats) and finish our tour in the magnificent pillared and domed circular dining room built by Col. Baker c1812, where we will be rewarded with tea and biscuits.

Meet: in the car park behind Windover House, 26 St Ann's Street, SP1 2DR
