A series of new music events in the regional area of Thanet, Kent

The inaugural event will be an acoustic set of music by local innovators Richard Pike & Adam Coney presenting their project Driftingland.

Released on Trestle Records in early 2025 Driftingland: For Guitar & Piano Vol 1 centres upon a language of deep listening, reverence for sound, restraint and distillation of ideas.

'Tracing the contours of shared sound with an exquisite lightness of touch. What’s perhaps most striking about "Driftingland" is its deep commitment to presence.' - Vito Camarretta (Chain D.L.K)

'Gawd it’s lovely. What I especially like is being able to hear the room. I love how you can hear Richard pedalling at the end of tracks... or how you can hear the room resonating.' - Neil Mason (Moonbuilding Issue 51)

Resonant Coast will be an irregular regular event focused upon marginal ambient, electronics, improvised music and less trod areas of musical expression. Curated by Richard Pike it aims to address a dearth of off-spectrum original-composed live music.

Richard Pike is an Australian-in-UK composer and label curator, known for his adventurous projects (Deep Learning, Forgiveness, PVT) on renowned labels like Warp and Gondwana, and TV scores including Romper Stomper and Tucci In Italy, recently performing solo for Margate Electronics and supporting James Holden.

Adam Coney is a guitarist and label curator of Trestle Records and one of Thanet’s most beloved and experienced musicians, regularly touring with Liam Bailey and a vast range of UK experimental artists harnessing a scope of genres from rock to jazz in his own inimitable way.
