Event description

Description

The North wing of Saltmarshe Hall stands empty, it's vast number of cellars and rooms were abandoned in the 1930's and left to the ghosts who are said to haunt the whole area. Locals talk of ghostly visions in the grounds of the building and unexplained caterwauling from the dark cellars, whilst the abandoned servant's quarters have an eerie silence and are somewhere the current owners choose to avoid.
This building is a 19th Century manor house set in a 17 acre estate which belonged to the Saltmarshe family from the time of the Norman Conquest, until the last member of the family died in the early 1970s.
The present hall was built in 1825 two earlier halls did once sit on the same site though. The last living Saltmarshe to live in the building was an eccentric bachelor who confined himself to a few rooms within the property, with around 40 cats for company!
The sound of horses hooves, female guests complaining of unseen hands touching them and shadow people being seen are all phenomenon that have been reported in this building and it's one that will be sure not to disappoint!
