Event description

Description

Black History Month is a celebration of the important people of the past and those who contribute and help our society today.

Samuel Kasumu is a fantastic example especially within the London community. Not only is he an entrepreneur but he is a contributing board member of various trustees including Elevation Networks, a charity he started at the age of 19 which focuses on tackling gender and race inequality within the workplace. The organisation has won awards including the best partnership award at the Business in the Community (BITC) Race for Opportunity Awards. He is also a trustee for Peace Alliance, an organisation that promotes peace across London.

Samuel chairs the Great Debate Tour, UK's largest annual university debate tour, Great Debate Tour. It celebrates diversity and heritage as well as a forum for powerful, thought provoking discussion. Samuel also has a strong involvement within the voluntary sector. He previously spent time as a consultant for the National Youth Agency charity, where he delivered training on youth participation to middle managers during the period of Integrated Youth Support Services under the previous government. The work centred around the UN Convention on The Rights of the Child.

This event is open to all.
