Event Details

Samuel Moore - hailed as “A fantastic flamenco guitarist” (BBC Radio 3), Samuel Moore is fast establishing himself as one of the UK’s leading flamenco musicians. Since 2007 he has performed in venues across the UK, Europe and North America, with past tours involving concerts in Rue-B in New York, The 100 Club in London, the Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall in Leeds, Café Universel in Paris, Ely Cathedral and Winchester Cathedral.

In solo concerts Samuel presents beautifully crafted flamenco guitar sets that bring to life the intoxicating rhythms, colours and sounds of Andalucía. Highlights for the forthcoming 2019/20 Concert Season include an intimate lunchtime concert at St Martin-in-the-Fields in London and a nine date UK tour.

Whilst best known for his work as a soloist, Samuel is also a committed ensemble musician and frequently collaborates with other performers. Current collaborative projects include performing and recording alongside the classical guitarist Michael Christian Durrant, and touring with a handpicked company of flamenco dancers and singers under the ensemble name Flamenco Puro.

Will McNicol picked up his first guitar at the age of six and has gone on to become what Gordon Giltrap described as “one of the finest guitarists and composers on the scene today”. He has won Guitarist Magazine's “Acoustic Guitarist of the Year” and is listed as one of Acoustic Guitar Magazine's “30 Worldwide Great Guitarists Under Thirty.”

“Acoustic genius...a true guitar ninja!” - Guitar Techniques Magazine

His performances, workshops and masterclasses have taken him around the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, China and Zimbabwe (where he played The Harare International Festival of Arts, one of Africa's biggest music festivals). Will also led the International Guitar Festival's 'Advanced Fingerstyle Course’ as well as the London Guitar Summit’s 'Contemporary Acoustic Course’, alongside Antonio Forcione.

“Flawless” - Guitarist Magazine

Besides his solo tours, Will has supported renowned artists such as Mumford and Sons, Pierre Bensusan, Clive Carroll, Jon Gomm, and Martin Simpson, with his performances being described as "beautifully flawless" and "magical" by the music press.

“At once soothing and uplifting...exceptional” - Acoustic Guitar Magazine

Will’s work has also appeared on a number of films and BBC documentaries, with his orchestral works debuted by the UK's Ten Tors Orchestra and has just released his fourth LP of original material, to 5* reviews and much critical acclaim. “Dragonflies, Frogs and Bumblebees [shows] technical mastery. Simply beautiful.” - Guitar Techniques.

Accessibility info:-

Events are generally suitable for adults, young people and older children - children must be accompanied by an adult at all times, however. Young children are also welcome to come along but be aware some poems and songs may contain adult content (although we try to keep these until after children have left!)

Most events are held on our first floor, accessible by a wide staircase with a sturdy banner. Comfortable seating is provided.  We regret that, due to space and other constraints, we are generally unable to relocate our events to the ground floor for those who require ground level access - so sorry
