Event description

Description

In 2017 San Ghanny went to Palestine to sing, to listen and to learn. They sang at the Nablus Music Festival and in refugee camps, in community halls and kindergartens and schools. They also sang in solidarity with the Palestinian people in demonstrations, in farmers’ fields and at the separation wall: wherever they were asked to. They met and listened to many amazing people living their lives of somoud (steadfastness) under the Occupation. Those same people asked the choir to tell Scotland what life is like on the West Bank. So the book shares their stories and the CD holds the songs San Ghanny sang. It will be launched at Pentlands Book Festival with a performance of song, stories and photos, building on their sell-out performances at Tradfest and across Scotland in 2017.
