Description

Sanctuary Gig Night [11th Edn.]

After a jaw-dropping September gig brought to you by the Coveryard, Sanctuary Gig Night returns with Go out of Tune to bring you London's finest emerging artists in our hidden gem of a venue on Pitfield Street - St Johns Hoxton is a beautiful 19th century church with the most incredible acoustics. With two 20-minute sets from each of our headline artists, it's becoming a unique night on the undergorund scene to catch up with friends and hear some stunning sounds.

Jaya

'One of the most identifiable vocal tones in modern acoustic music' - String Buzz Music

Edgy pop at its finest, the voice and style of JAYA has been likened to Tracy Chapman and Laura Marling. After three successful singles and tours of the UK, Germany and Holland, Jaya's soaring vocals and dynamic performances have landed her some prestigious shows, including supporting 80's Pop Icon Rick Astley on his Australian Tours in 2012 and 2014, and Clare Bowditch on her 2014 tour. Jaya will be performing a one-off set with her bassist, pianist and singer Ronald Maas (NL).

A five-piece London based folk pop band. These guys are gathering momentum. Fronted by Australian Annie Morris, whose endearing vocals weave in and out of their light, playful music. The band have been out on the festival circuit this year, armed with a collection of sweet songs, foot-tapping catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics.

Gigsoup say their debut EP contains 'the seeds of a career bound to blossom into a very promising future', whilst tracks November has had airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC Introducing London and Amazing Radio, and Shivers featuring within Tom Robinson’s mix tape on BBC 6 Music.
