Event description
A lively guddle of Scottish, Polish and Ukrainian music and literature

About this event

The Scottish Polish Cultural Association invites you to an evening of music and literature. In the beautiful setting of Broughton St Mary's Church, we hope that you will join us for a ceilidh (gathering)of tunes, songs and poetry from Scotland, Poland and Ukraine, followed by a drink and a chat in the garden (weather permitting).

Featuring the songs and poetry of Robert Burns, Juliusz Słowacki, Taras Shevchenko, Lesya Ukrainka and Mykola Kostomarov, as well as modern works and well-loved Scottish, Polish and Ukrainian folk music, the programme brings together both serious and humorous pieces on themes of national identity, social justice, friendship, love and tradition in a multi-lingual medley.

Presented by the Scottish Polish Cultural Association, with assistance from Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, Edinburgh and Help Ukraine Scotland.

Made possible by funding from the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Edinburgh.

Free entry, suggested donation £5 – proceeds to the DEC Ukraine Appeal
