Who is the grotto appropriate for?

The grotto is most appropriate for little ones aged 2-8.

Question 2

Who needs a ticket?

Accepted Answer

This is a ticket only experience so please purchase a ticket for every child who wants to enjoy the grotto experience. Babes in arms are free and grown-ups accompanying children don't require tickets.

Question 3

Do I need to stay with my children?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we ask that at least one adult stays with their child or children. One adult may accompany their child into the grotto, or alternatively stand just outside our grotto fence - you’ll only be a few metres away at any time and all angles are visible.

Can you cater to additional needs or specific considerations?

Our grotto elves and santa aren’t able to change the performance to address specific needs, however all are welcome and  if there’s something you’d like to ask or make us aware of ahead of time, please feel free to drop us an email on trader.marketing@camdenmarket.com

Is there a place to park my buggy?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there’s space to park your pram/buggy/scooter just next to the grotto. This is a public space so we ask that you don’t leave any valuables, and though we will have a member of security staff nearby at all times, we unfortunately can’t accept any responsibility for lost, damaged or stolen items.

Is there step-free access?

Yes, there is step free access from street level and also access via a lift. We will send you more information before your booking to ensure you are aware of step-free access points.

Question 7

Are there public toilets and changing facilities?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the grotto is within Hawley Wharf’s Waterside Halls where there are toilets, baby changing and Changing Places facilities.

Question 8

What will happen during the grotto experience?

Accepted Answer

Our helper elves will welcome each child and everyone will get their face painted, watch our balloon artist (and get a balloon to keep!), and have an opportunity to sit next to Santa. Every child will receive a non-edible gift.

Question 9

Is there somewhere for refreshments?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! The grotto is within Waterside Halls, which is home to lots of food vendors and has plenty of covered seating. There are also shops and even more things to do! Look out for our festive trader map to help you explore deals and specials.
