Santa's Saplings: Planting with Jersey Trees for Life
Overview
We're looking for volunteers to help us and our National Trust friends to plant a new woodland in Bellozanne Valley on the Monday morning of Christmas week, 22 December.
It's a great project to be involved in and there's room for plenty, so register here if you'd like to join in. It's the start of the school holidays and youngsters are welcome too (under your supervision).
We'll meet at 9.30am in the fields next to the top (Mont à l'Abbé) end of Rue Fliquet, where parking will be available, marked by Jersey Trees for Life flags:

Remember to input the correct Rue Fliquet if you're using GPS, otherwise you could end up at Flicquet, near St Catherine's. This one is in St Helier, with the top end on La Grande Route de Mont à l'Abbé and the bottom end in Bellozanne Valley. We strongly recommend arriving from the top, thereby avoiding the bottom, which is extremely thin and windy with no passing places.
If you have any problems finding us on the day, please call Alex on 07797 774676.
Please keep in mind the following:
- You must complete a volunteer working agreement before attending (link also in confirmation email)
- You may get wet so check the forecast and wear waterproof clothing and boots
- You might get cold so wear layers and don’t forget your hat and gloves
- You may get tired so don’t push yourself too hard; take it at your own pace
- Bring snacks and drinks to maintain energy levels
- We provide equipment but please bring your own spade if you have one
- Ask our team lots of questions and have fun!
Jersey Trees for Life regularly hosts open volunteering, especially during planting season, so keep an eye out.
