The bothy has always been a site and source of conviviality, connection and creativity - the sharing of news, stories, music and song that is at the heart of the traditional cèilidh gathering. From the folklore of the shielings and shepherd’s huts of the past to the mountain bothies and revitalisation of hutting today, the symbol of the bothy embodies a world of meaning with potential to take on new significance and possibility.
