Join Sarika, a Lake District–based architect, as she shares her SPAB Scholarship adventures—exploring a treasure trove of historic buildings, meeting remarkable people who shape and preserve this heritage, and discovering timeless craftsmanship. This unique travelling scholarship gave her a fresh perspective on architectural conservation, and she invites you to uncover the stories, insights, and philosophy that bring these remarkable buildings to life.
Sarika is an architect whose admiration for historic buildings is matched only by her quiet frustration when they are neglected or misunderstood. She pursued a Master’s in Vernacular Architecture in the UK to deepen her understanding of traditional buildings and now specialises in their repair and sensitive adaptation. Sarika has collaborated with renowned organisations in India and the UK, and in 2024 was awarded the prestigious SPAB Scholarship—an immersive program that combines travel, hands-on experience, and expert engagement to enhance conservation expertise.
