THE GRUFFALO - 10:30am

The Gruffalo tells the magical tale of a mouse who takes a walk though the woods in search of a nut. Encountering three predators – all of whom wish to eat him - a fox, an owl and a snake – the plucky mouse has to use his wits to survive.

He announces that he is meeting a monster with terrible features, a ‘Gruffalo’, and the three predators are each panicked into running away. The mouse is now increasingly confident that there is nothing that can touch him, or so he thinks. When he rounds a corner and comes face to face with the terrible creature of his imagination, the Gruffalo itself, the mouse has to dig deep to escape the danger and find peace at last in the woods.

ZOG -11:30am

“Zog, the biggest dragon, was the keenest one by far. He tried his hardest every day to win a golden star.”

Zog tells the tale of a clumsy young dragon who longs to win a gold star at Dragon School. He’s the keenest pupil and he tries as hard as he can to learn to fly, roar and breathe fire. But every year the gold star eludes him when his valiant efforts end in mishap and a kind young girl with medical ambitions finds him and patches up his bumps and bruises. Eventually the unlikely pair become best of friends and defy the expectations of their upbringing - setting off into the sunset to make the world a better place - ‘The Flying Doctors waving as they zigzagged through the blue.’

Featuring the voices of Sir Lenny Henry as the Narrator, Hugh Skinner as Zog, Tracey Ullman as Madame Dragon, Patsy Ferran as Princess Pearl, and Kit Harington as Sir Gadabout. And of course, some added vocals by Rob Brydon as it really wouldn’t be a Magic Light Special without him!

THE GRUFFALO’S CHILD - 12:30pm

One wild and windy night, the Gruffalo’s child ignores her father’s warnings and bravely tiptoes out into the snow in search of the Big Bad Mouse. She meets Snake, Owl and Fox but no sign of the fabled Mouse. He doesn't really exist...or does he?

A companion film to the hugely successful The Gruffalo. With the voices of Helena Bonham Carter, Rob Brydon, Robbie Coltrane, James Corden, Shirley Henderson, John Hurt, Tom Wilkinson.
