Cadw Open Doors: Ruin of St Mary's Church, Tintern

Join us for an informal talk on the ruin of St Mary's. This in-person event offers a unique opportunity to delve into the history and beauty of this ancient site. From Celtic saints to Cistercians, wealthy ironmasters to bankruptcy, St Mary’s has a colourful history. Discover hidden legends, marvel at the architecture, and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the churchyard. Don't miss out on this chance to experience the magic of St Mary's for yourself!
Please note we can only walk outside the church as it is currently closed to the public. LWVBPT hope to take you inside once the ruin is made safe, but in the meantime you can enjoy excellent views and then go down to visit the mother church - the nearby Tintern Abbey.
