Event description

Description

A half day workshop open to all young people who are currently in primary 3,4 and 5.

Saturday 27 January 10.00 - 12.00 at Cove Park

Visual Storytelling Workshop with Naomi O Kelly

Visual Storytelling is a fun introduction to visual theatre and puppetry. We'll use a treasure trove of colourful objects, fabrics, and rudimentary puppets, to see how we can tell stories with moving pictures. The session will start with games and tales told by storyteller and theatre maker Naomi O Kelly, and then we'll stage these stories (or wild and wonderful new versions of them!) using no words at all.

The workshop allows each child in the group to explore composition, colour and rhythm at their own pace, and also to team up with other kids for inspiration and fun.

Naomi is the best storyteller in the world!” - sensible review from a student at St. Oswald's Secondary School, Glasgow.

This is the first in our new series of monthly Saturday Studio workshops at Cove Park.

Please note, this event will take place in the Artist Centre and the accommodation around the 50-acre rural site. If you have any queries about accessing the Cove Park site please contact Cove Park in advance.

This workshop is part of Hands-On Cove Park, a programme of creative events, workshops and talks for people in Argyll & Bute. Find out more about the programme and sign up for updates here and see details of current activities here.

Hands-On Cove Park is funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and The Robertson Trust.
