Event description

Description

As part of Pride in London 2017, take to the streets with three qualified Westminster guides to celebrate London's most rebellious district and fifty years since the decriminilisation of homsexuality!

Uncover the heart of Soho, a heart which in recent years has been clogged with cut and paste redevelopment; rising rents and the dawning of an age of online dating.

Discover the Empress of Pleasure and her assembly rooms on the site of the Catholic Church of Soho Square; the 'modern-day Dandy' Sebastian Horsley and his penchant for provacation, the turbulent relationship of Verlaine and Rimbaud; Queen of the Colony Rooms Muriel Belcher, Soho Pam and the eccentric happenings in Dirty White Boy. Saucy Soho reinvigorates the spirit of Soho with all its sexy, seedy battle cry and is sure to throw new light on London's most rebellious village. Pub stop included!

The tour begins in the shadow of Harry Potter's Cursed Child, by the red phone by the Palace Theatre, Cambridge Circus. Sheldon, Dan and Emmanuel will be dressed to impress! The tour will last roughly an hour and 15 minutes; nearest Tube Stops are Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square and Covent Garden.
