Event description

Description

For decades Soho has been an escape, a sanctuary, a place to be seen. For the likes of the naked civil servant Quentin Crisp, the Empress of Pleasure Theresa Cornelys and writer-provocateur William Beckford, it’s also been a place to call home.

As we celebrate fifty years since the legalisation of ‘homosexual acts’, join three Westminster Guides for an intimate look at some of the characters who’ve minced, lived and loved down Soho’s streets –expect duels fought with fish, Neon alleyways, randy Italians and a Dandy in the Underworld! Explore London’s seediest district and get a personal introduction to some of its LGBTQ characters from past and present as part of Pride in London 2017!

We round off the tour at a key Soho bar and toast the legends who’ve put the Ho in Soho – book your place now!

The tour begins in the shadow of Harry Potter's Cursed Child, by the red phone by the Palace Theatre, Cambridge Circus. Sheldon, Dan and Emmanuel will be dressed to impress! The tour will last roughly an hour and 15 minutes; nearest Tube Stops are Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square and Covent Garden.
