There isn't a country making wine today that excites us more than Portugal – we just can't stop buying new Portuguese wines to share with you all. With recent tourism booms to Porto and Lisbon, the world is starting to appreciate both its wine and culinary tradition. Full of indigenous grapes and diverse terroirs, the range and quality of wine styles starting to appear on the international market are unique and varied.
The wines have evolved side-by-side with Portuguese gastronomic delights so, for this tasting we're putting a greater than usual emphasis on food, showing five wines each with a food pairing. Think piercing Bairrada whites with gooey queijo; red Vinho Verde with iconic tinned fish and Madeira with pastel de nata, to name a few.
So, come on down to Tufnell Park with sharp appetites and curious minds as we host a tasting celebrating the incredible food culture of Portugal and the fine Portuguese delicacies that we can happily source in North London.
Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
