Description

Would you know what to do if a baby or child stopped breathing? If not, then emergency first aid training should be on your list of essential skills to learn. You will leave this training session feeling confident to help someone in a first aid emergency and with the knowledge to save a life!

This course focuses on the essential first aid skills for those looking after babies and small children, which will give you the skills and confidence to help in a medical emergency. Our goal is to make emergency first skills simple to learn and easy to remember. In just 3 hours you will learn simple life-saving skills including and much more.

Recognise and manage:

  • Unconsciousness (breathing and not breathing) Including baby and child CPR, and how to use a defibrillator (AED)

  • A seizure

  • A child or a baby who is choking

  • An acute allergic reaction - Anaphylactic shock

  • A head injury and concussion

  • Signs and symptoms of Meningitis and Sepsis

Time permitting

  • Bleeding, Burns & Scalds

  • Swallowing harmful substance

First Aid booklets are available to buy on the day for £5.00

Any funds made from this course will go towards the cost of buying an Automated External Defibrilator (AED) for Bell House

Who should attend?

This course is for parents, expectant parents, grandparents and foster parents/guardians, or any interested parties.

Plus, anyone working with or caring for children not looking to be Ofsted Registered.

To note:

  • This course is open to adults only.

  • As a non-certified course, this is not suitable for people who need first aid training for a professional or work environment.

  • Practical sessions will be on the floor. Please let us know if this will be an issue.

  • Please wear practical clothing and low-heeled shoes.


Dulwich resident Sandie Ennis is the face and hands behind hands-on first aid training; she is also an osteopath, Pilates teacher. and university lecturer.
