Overview

Strum and pick through a couple of popular songs online with me!

David Harrison is a writer and eductator with over 30 years' experience in adult education. Guildhall Jazz Performance graduate, series editor of the world's best-selling instrumental tutor series A New Tune A Day and author of the Bob Dylan Complete (pub. Hal Leonard), David has taught guitar and saxophone at London's City Literary Institute for over 25 years.

His relaxed, inclusive style ensures an entertaining and inspiring session where you'll meet other music students , expand your repertoire and pick up all sorts of tips to explore your instrument. May contain cats.

A fun session with a wide range of repertoire, suitable for saxophonists with approximately a year of continuous study—or returning after a little while away... We'll look at a different tune each week from jazz, soul and pop, and examine approaches such as phrasing, tone production, rhythmic ideas, simple improvisation, building a performance and much more! There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, try things out, pick up tips and compare your experience with other attendees. Once you've signed up for the session you'll receive an Eventbrite email with the zoom details and a link to a google folder with the week's material. Sessions are recorded so you can go back again and again to review those fine points. Hope to see you there!
