THE UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER SCHOOL OF LAW LAW AND SOCIAL JUSTICE SERIES

Say I’m Innocent

Screening of Fallout and panel discussion with Paddy Hill, Robert Brown, Pete Weatherby QC and Akemia Minott

Fallout is a documentary on the post prison experiences of four exonerated prisoners. Two were sentenced to death: Peter Pringle in Ireland and Sunny Jacobs in the USA. Paddy Hill, one of the Birmingham Six, and Robert Brown, received a life sentence for murder, served 17 and 25 years, respectively, in British gaols.

Paddy and Robert will be joined on the panel by Pete Weatherby and Akemia Minott. Based at Garden Court North Chambers, Pete specialises in human rights cases and represented Robert at the Court of Appeal. Akemia is a youth worker and with the Northern Police Monitoring Project and JENGbA is campaigning against criminalisation of young people in Moss Side.

The Law and Social Justice Series is part of the School of Law’s social responsibility programme.
