The event is aimed at young people aged from 4-19 years, and will showcase some of the most prominent local and regional business’ who rely on engineering to be successful.
Empowering young people to take control of their future in an ever changing world is essential for successful futures, especially as they progress to careers which do not yet exist, use technology not yet invented and solve problems we do not even yet know are problems. This is at the heart of Scarborough Engineering Week.
Keen to promote careers available in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and show just how exciting technology can be, the local experts and business leaders from our region will be bringing along some of the latest technology being used in business today, including robots, virtual reality kits, 3D technology etc giving visitors the chance to have “hands on” experience. Local and regional schools have registered their learners to attend the event during the day and we would like to extend this free invitation for young people and their famlies to attend during the late afternoon/early evening.
The evening will also host the final of the P1 Build a Boat Challenge funded by IET and IMechE. For further information about the Challenge please click on the following link: http://scarboroughengineeringweek.com/
