It's nearly Christmas..................................................
For our December meeting we’d like to support the work of the NSPCC so instead of the seasonal “Christmas Lunch” we’ll be hosting a “Chatty Brunch” where Jo Dale, Community Fundraising Manager, will tell us a little of what the NSPCC does and how it does it.
The usual meeting fee of £5.00 for members and £6.50 for guests will be donated to the NSPCC. The meeting will be 9.30 - 11.30am at the Downe Arms and you’ll be treated to a festive brunch - so don’t have too much breakfast that morning! And with a nod to the festive season we’d like you to think about a couple of facts about yourself or your business that you’d be happy to tell us about so we can “Chat” about them over “Brunch”. The more unusual or unexpected the better – do we have any skydivers in our group or do any of you sell goods to Outer Mongolia???
We must have numbers in advance - wouldn’t want to run out of sausages - so please let us know if you are coming.
Founded over 125 years ago the NSPCC is the leading children's charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK. They help children who have been abused to rebuild their lives, protect those at risk, and find the best ways of preventing abuse from ever happening.
Did you realise, the NSPCC helpline responded to almost 55,000 contacts from adults concerned about the welfare of a child last year, that currently over 57,000 children are identified as being at risk from abuse and every 25 seconds a child calls Childline.
