At GXCA, we want to create a computer course that’s genuinely useful for local residents. But to do that, we need your input. So we’re hosting a relaxed, friendly discussion session where you can tell us what you struggle with, what you'd like to learn, and what would make technology less scary and more useful for your daily life.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to bring my computer or tablet?

No, not at all! This is just a friendly chat to find out what sort of tech challenges you're facing. No equipment needed — just bring yourself (and perhaps a notepad if you like).

What kind of problems will we talk about?

Anything that’s causing confusion or frustration! Whether it's sending emails, avoiding scams, using WhatsApp, or understanding updates — we're here to listen and learn what help you need most.

Is this a training session?

Not yet — this is a discussion session. We're using this session to hear from you, so we can build a course that’s actually useful and tailored to your needs.

I'm embarrassed about not knowing much – is this still for me?

Absolutely! You’re exactly who we’d love to talk to. No one will judge you, and you won’t be alone — this is a safe, welcoming space where everyone starts from different places.

Can someone come with me?

Yes please! In fact, we recommend bringing a tech-savvy child or grandchild along — they can help explain what you struggle with, and we promise to reward them with tea and biscuits!

How much does it cost?

It’s completely free to attend. No need to book a place for them either, just make sure you’ve reserved yours.
