Description

Scarlet kicked off the new year by playing in front of 20,000 people at Tbisili Open Air festival (Georgia) along
side Steve Vai and released their debut crowd funded album ‘Effigy’ in Japan and the UK.

The band secured a licensing deal for the album in Japan with Vinyl Junkie Records (blossoms, swim deep,
the wombats) Scarlet were recently featured by Alt Press in their ’20 rising u.k. bands about to take over the scene’ article.

Scarlet have supported Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats, Neon Waltz, Pulled Apart By Horses,
Swervedriver, Black Honey, Kagoule, The Struts, secured slots playing DIY’s ‘breaking out’ night at Liverpool
music week festival, and played the huge festivals, Secret Garden Party, Tramlines, Sound City, Hop Farm
Festival, ‘We Luv Festival’ (Aintree racecourse alongside acts such as UB40, Scouting For Girls, Example
and many more) amongst many others.

They have worked with producers Jon Withnall, (Coldplay’s Parachutes, A Rush Of Blood To The Head, and
X&Y) Michael Johnson (Joy Division, Pink Floyd, New Order, Stone Roses) and Al Groves (Bring Me The
Horizon, CAST) on their debut album ‘Effigy’.

Scarlet secured ongoing support from Marshall Amplifiers who chose their demo 'Heavy' to be a part of their
Richer Unsigned 'Best unsigned bands' playlist, which meant the song was played in every Richer Sounds
music store up and down the country for a month and featured in Q Magazine!

The band won two competitions, one of which, was to work with crowd funding specialists ‘Pledge Music’ and
‘Juxdit’ in association with Liverpool Sound City festival, to create a Pledge Music campaign to fund the
release of their album and secured themselves a slot playing the delegates conference at Liverpool Sound
City festival.

They hit the 50% mark on their pledge music campaign just 6 days into the 60 day campaign and
successfully reached their target of £6,000 and unlocked the money to make their debut album ‘Effigy’

‘Anyway’ was included in BBC Radio 6’s ‘Fresh Faves’ Batch 146

They are currently working on promoting their album through live shows and maintaining a steadily growing
organic fan base with continuous support from north west music scene fanatics, as well as branching out and
gaining support from BBCintroducing, BBC Radio 6, and other bands further afield.

The band have also received direct endorsements for their music from Guy Garvey (Elbow) and support from
The Vaccines and Sir Bob Geldof.

‘Scarlet.’s debut album, Effigy, was the best DIY indie-rock album of 2016, yet in the cruelest of
circumstances, not many people seemed to take notice. And that’s a great shame, because Scarlet. are
fucking brilliant. With an indie-rock sound that touches on shoegaze and even a tad on pop punk, the
Liverpool rockers are the U.K. underground’s best-kept secret. Their album isn’t even on the major streaming
services, so if you want to check out the band’s stuff, you’ll have to head over to their Bandcamp page. And
you really should, because Effigy is a gem of a record’ - Alt Press

‘Unsurprisingly, a stunning piece of work’ - The John Peel centre on ‘Anyway’

'Has the UK finally found our very own Patti smith or Karen O which we have all so longed for!!?? Lets fuckin’
hope so!!’ Urbanista online magazine

‘Don’t be surprised to see these hitting the big leagues soon, with headline shows of their own surely just around the corner’ GetIntoThis

‘With a tight rhythm section giving their tunes a danceable tinge, 2015 could just be their year’ GetIntoThis

‘A female fronted band is unfortunately such a rarity these days, talk all you will about sensationalised artists
such as Beyonce or Rihanna, yet there is still a huge gap in the market for decent female underground
musicians. Well, that was until, Liverpool outfit, Scarlet rocked up on the scene, proving that actually, us girls
can both talk the talk and walk the walk.’ Lauren Jones - The Music Manual

‘One of the North-West’s most hotly-tipped up-and-comers, they’re most certainly not to be missed before
the big-time comes calling’ GetIntoThis

'Youthful, star-gazingly dreamy pop-infused indie with a sprinkle of attitude is SCARLET and SCARLET are
big- time. Believe that.’ Sound Of Liverpool Blog

‘Already making waves with a range of live shows in our city, including supporting The Struts and being
booked to headline our impressive Magnet venue in a few weeks, Scarlet team moody, bass-led pop with
charming vocals and lyrics so real you could bump into them on the street. Their songs have the perfect mix
of gentle melodies and naughtier, dark riffs. Releasing demos that put other band’s singles to shame, the
band are flying high, head- ing into 2015 with studio sessions and an exciting (EP) planned to wow your
ears. Not liking Scarlet isn’t an option and I don’t know why you would want to anyway. Scarlet are the
future.’ Gigslutz.com

Supports on the night will play across 2 stages and include Seagulls, Colour, Foxymorons, Deh-Yey, Turbulence, Oli Ng, The Cazales, Cull and Kuider.
