About this Event

Whether you've never tried Contemporary Dance before or haven't taken a class for a while you are very welcome at SCD.

SCD is very excited to be launching its brand new Adult Contemporary [Beginners] class with a FREE TASTER on Monday 4th November. Classes then continue the following week and every Monday during Sutton school term times.

Our Adult Contemporary [Beginners] teacher, Maggie Kwan, is a beautiful and experienced contemporary dancer who has a brilliant gift for teaching others. Maggie is well used to working with people from different experience and ability levels and will make you feel very welcome. She will work with you to help you grow and deepen your skill and love for contemporary dance.

Enjoy our air conditioned, well equipped studios with high quality sound and lighting systems installed.

SCD classes are all designed to help everyone improve their physical health, mental wellbeing and to do this whilst enjoying meeting new people and bringing more life to the heart of Sutton's town centre.

What is Contemporary Dance

Contemporary teaches you how to pull up, release, relax and loosen up the body. Our contemporary classes are a real chance to 'let go' and express yourself through dance - using a wide variety of well-known music. Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical, street and classical ballet.
