SCEL Information Session (In Headship, Middle Leadership, SCEL Endorsement)
Tue 6 December 2016, 09:30 – 15:30 GMT
SCEL, working in partnership with universities, has taken forward development of the new In Headship element of the Specialist Qualification for Headship Masters Pathway. This new postgraduate programme is designed to provide new head teachers with the support they require in transitioning to their new role and developing their professional identity as a head teacher.
It builds on, enhances and advances professional learning gained through the successful completion of the postgraduate qualification ‘Into Headship’ through which the Standard for Headship (GTCS, 2012) was initially attained. The programme provides a means for the deepening of understanding, application and evaluation of the Standard for Headship in practice.
This information session provides an opportunity for local authority coordinators to discuss the planned developments and agree next steps in recruitment to the programme.
The session is also designed to provide an update on work at middle leadership and an overview of SCEL’s endorsement highlighting the benefits of endorsement and the process involved.
