Description

Underworld Konnect Presents
Two homegrown UK Hip Hop headliners share one evening of energy, sick music and lyricism. We pick two artists to do full headline sets, bringing class and vibes to Hip Hop to celebrate our own as they deserve. The artists are handpicked to be sick at their craft, different in styles and to capture YOU as an audience to take you on a journey with them during their performances!

GENESIS ELIJAH
Genesis Elijah is one of the most respected names in the UK Hip-Hop scene and has been since his emergence in 2005 when he released the critically acclaimed album Deh Pon Road which featured Hip-Hop heavy weights Klashnekoff & Skinnyman among others. The album was given rave reviews with the single 'Jah Bless' finding a spot on the BBC's 1xtra play list. In 2006 Genesis Elijah released his mixtape 'The Industrial Revolution'. This featured chart topper Sway and former Dip Set member Tom Gist. This went on to sell over 20,000 copies as well as getting international air play. In 2007 Genesis Elijah hooked up with Electro legends Atomic Hooligan featuring on they're album 'Sex, Drugs & Blah Blah Blah' and then went on to go on tour with them across Europe as well as the festival circuit including Glastonbury and Glade. Atomic Hooligan went on to win the award for 'Best Live Act' at the 2008 Breakspoll Awards.Later in 2010 Genesis Elijah released a collaboration album with production duo The Krate Krusaders. The album had widespread coverage on the net and garnered Genesis Elijah a whole new fan base. Also that year he featured on Charlie Sloths album The Black Book with their video 'Game Over' getting over 100,000 YouTube Views
Later in 2012 Genesis Elijah released a 10 track Mini-Mixtape called 'An Emcee's Worst Enemy over beats from US producer The Alchemist's instrumental album 'A Rapper's Best Friend'. In Oct of 2012 Genesis collaborated with the UK's leading Youth Broadcaster SBTV and released an EP called 'I Ain't Even Charging Bruv 2' which featured Dream Mclean, Nutty P, Swiss, Loudmouth Melvin, Teeza and more. Once again a Genesis Elijah release was called a classic

Over the years Genesis Elijah has performed all over the world (Taiwan, Germany, Switzerland, Amsterdam, Ireland) with artist such as Jessie J, Dub Pistols, KRS One, Talib Qweli, Souls Of Mischief, Akil (Jurassic 5), Bone Thugs N Harmony to name a few and has collaborated with the best in the business. Genesis is currently working on numerous projects including his next Album 'I Ain't Even Started Bruv' and an EP called Love/Music/Money/Heartbreak. Genesis Elijah continues to make a name for himself as one of the most hard working and consistent artist in the game.

COOPS
Rapper Coops has gone from Chillin’ to counting his Blessings as he drops Lost Soul mixtape. Not many people can brag that their first ever performance was at London’s o2 opening for Nas, but that’s because they are not Coops – the laidback rapper who is earning so many stripes you would think he was sponsored by Adidas. It was just last year the 23-year-old won Choice FM’s Breakthrough Competition, and since then Coops has steadily risen through the ranks; going from just “another rapper” to one worth watching. Attracting international attention in the form of a shout out from Vibe magazine, Blessings was described as: “A gritty rap track that could’ve been born of the Queensbridge Projects.” Not bad for a north Londoner who is a relative newcomer to the game. His popularity probably lies in the fact that while most rappers are screaming turn up, Coops is bucking the trend with songs that form the perfect soundtrack for kicking back with Mary Jane to. His boom bop beats, interspersed with soul, jazz and lyrics to ponder or bob your head to has seen him twice feature in GIITTV’s Eargasm selection. Coops released his album God Complex earlier this year capturing audiences of all generations.

DJ SHORTY
DJ Shorty from ITCH FM will be warming up the room with a special Hip Hop set for true fans of rap! DJ Shorty has earned his respect in the underground Hip Hop scene with shows on Deja Vu, Kane FM, Force FM and presently ITCH FM. His Hip Hop expertise has put him in demand for cuts and projects from rappers internationally and is sure to bring you BANGERS for the launch of Scene & Herd.

Cop your ticket early - as our LAUNCH NIGHT this one is going to be INSANE!
