We will be running a mask making course in Edinburgh on Tuesday evenings 7pm - 9pm.
The course runs for seven weeks starting on November 1st.
We will make masks using clay moulding and plaster casting techniques and a special strong paper mache recipe.
You will work on a base of your very own face cast (unless you don't want to - we can supply a base too) to sculpt, cast and decorate your own mask design, which you can then take home with you!
It is not necessary to have any prior experience for this class, but a creative approach is useful.
We will be modelling the shape of the mask from clay and then casting it in plaster to create the negative mould which will then be used to create the mask itself. It is a fun and absorbing process.
If you would like to create a latex or silicon mask this can be arranged - it is the same basic process. There may be a small supplementary charge for materials for this.
The course will take place at the new Scenehouse HQ - Studio 21, Beaverhall Studios , 27 Beaverhall Road, EH7 4JE
Course Fee: £100 including mask making materials
