San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
This event is primarily aimed at school groups.
The UK VFX industry is experiencing a skills shortage, particularly in the more technical specialist roles that rely on strong educational foundations in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and computing science.
In addition, creative and artistic jobs exist which rely on good foundations in art, photography and design, complemented by use of current graphic software. If you have a creative and scientific background, you will be an ideal candidate for the industry.
Young people concentrating on these areas very often do not know, or realise that rewarding careers based on these areas are possible in the creative industries, nor that many of computer generated imagery (CGI), that they see on the big screen, has been created here in the UK and not Hollywood. The visual effects industry is one of the fastest growing creative industries in the world and VFX companies across the UK are looking for new young talent.
Come along to this event to find out how you can navigate this exciting landscape and discover what potential career path could be yours to explore, with the right advice and signposting.
This event is free to attend but booking is essential.
