Project 2,999 Blanket Display

Join us at The Word - South Shields for a thought-provoking event showcasing the Project 2,999 Blanket, created with 2,999 individual crocheted squared; Made with parents, children, schools and communities, the 9m x 8m blanket serves as a visual representation of the sheer volume of children who experience exclusion daily during the 21-22 academic year.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to 'leave a message for education leaders in South Tyneside' and information will be available on events taking place across South Tyneside as part of School Exclusions Week 2025.

Refreshments will be provided at the event. Booking is not required, parents/carers, professionals and young people are welcome to drop-in to the event during the times stated to view the Blanket.
