The School of Applied Sciences Professorial Lecture Series aims to showcasing the innovative work of the School and Applied Sciences discipline to students, staff, alumni and guests. Free to attend and open to all.
We are delighted to welcome this guest lecture by Professor Nick Heather. Professor Heather is Emeritus Professor of Alcohol and Other Drug Studies at Northumbria University, and an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist. Professor Heather has been a pioneer of brief interventions to reduce alcohol misuse, and has authored a number of articles and books which challenge the disease theory of addiction. He has published in excess of 200 peer reviewed articles in the field of addictive behaviour.
