Description

School of Psychological Sciences and Health Research networking event.

What research projects are happening within Psychological Sciences and Health?

Due to the dynamic nature of our school this question can be challenging to answer for both students and staff.

The school wishes to address this by starting an annual event for our school’s staff and PhD/MPhil students to come together, share experiences and create collaborations. This year we will be piloting a mini conference with a wine reception.

Mini conference format.

3-4pm: Seminar hour

The first hour we will hear from a variety of academic staff across the school who will present some of the fantastic research that is coming out of our four research groups.

4-5 pm: student poster presentations and wine reception

In the second hour we will get some refreshments and students will present posters of some of their recent research. The aim of this informal poster session will be to gain a more in-depth understanding of both the variety of research happening within the school, and the student/staff involved in each project.

Please note: Existing posters of any size should be used as much as possible. However, if a student wants to develop a poster, there is a small budget to print A1 sized posters. Please email gail.e.mcmillan@strath.ac.uk if you are interested in printing. This will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.

What do I have to do?

1) Sign up- staff and students should sign up, via the Eventbrite link below, so we can track catering requirements and posters. Students who wish to present existing or new posters at the event should then email gail.e.mcmillan@strath.ac.uk with a poster title.

2) Turn up- Students that sign up to present posters should arrive at 2:30 to put their poster onto the provided displays.

If you have any questions about the event please email bradley.macdonald@strath.ac.uk
