Event description

Description

A short, practical & affordable weekend course on sketching and visual storytelling run by a talented illustrator Natalia Talkowska.

What's on:

In this interactive workshop you'll learn how to visualise your ideas, including sketching for:

— storyboarding user journeys
— pitching to stakeholders
— designing mockups for your app or website

We will take you through the different ways you can articulate your ideas through storytelling – turning often complex messages in pitches and campaigns into simple visual narratives in an easy to understand, memorable way, to truly engage an audience and ensure our brand is more memorable and unique.

We will show how you can come up with better ideas more quickly, using these key messages in pictures to share useful content and add Return on Engagement to the mix, which follows the always needed ROI.

Who is it for:

Everyone's welcome:
— graphic designers
— web developers
— project managers
— business analysts
— startup founders
— students

Suitable for complete beginners with no previous experience, as well as those who have already started exploring UX & UI design and want to spruce up their skills. Whether you're designing your own app, looking to improve your design skills or change your career — we are here to help you.

Who runs it:

This course is run by a professional illustrator Natalia Talkowska who runs her own creative agency specialising in visual communication working with global brands and government. She is also founder of Doodleledo – creative social events for anyone that says 'I can't draw!' run in 20 countries around the world.

What our students say:

"Great design tips and ideas. Tutor has wide & great experience in the field of UI & UX. A real expert."
★★★★★

"I just finished watching the course video last night, and I learned a lot. I have attended a lot of full-day design training courses which are too high-level and practical details about UX are not discussed. After watching only 30 mins of your video, I was able to apply it to my job straightaway."
★★★★★

"The School of UX sessions have really helped me to understand more about what UX is and isn't and also how it fits in with the whole life cycle of building products. The case studies and examples discussed in the classes really helped to get an understanding of how these principles can be applied to real world projects. I'd highly recommend these courses to anyone with an interest in learning more about UX!"
★★★★★

"Always great visuals to support your talk. Thank you."
★★★★★

Where:

The course will run at School of UX in Canada Water Library, just opposite Canada Water tube station on Jubilee Line (2 stops away from London Bridge). If you can't make it in person we've got video recording available.
