About this event

Join five of the biggest children's authors and illustrators Laura Ellen Anderson, Taylor Dolan, Ian Mark, Jack Meggitt-Phillips, and Harriet Muncaster for a special family Halloween event chaired by Bex from Fun Kids Live. Vampires vs fairies? Ogres vs giants? Discover the authors' favourite monsters in a quick-fire Q&A, followed by an interactive session of games, drawalongs and quizzes.

Discover how to draw a wiskling with Harriet Muncaster, help Jack Meggitt-Phillips decide what to feed to the beast, create your very own pumpkin with Laura Ellen Anderson, find out which monster you are with Ian Mark and discover your inner Ghost Scout with Taylor Dolan. The authors will also share their top creative writing tips to inspire all budding young writers!

Suitable for ages 6-10

Laura Ellen Anderson is a star of the children’s book world – as well as the magical Rainbow Grey, she is also the author and illustrator of the much loved, bestselling Amelia Fang series, whose characters have captured the hearts of children everywhere and whose adventures are published worldwide. Born in Essex, Laura now lives in London and when she’s not working, she enjoys doodling for fun, making 3D models, creating fan art, baking and writing ‘To Do’ lists.

Taylor Dolan was born into a house of stories and raised in Texas. She attended the Cambridge School of Art for her master’s degree in Children's Book Illustration where Lexie Wilde and her ghoulish gang first came to life. Chaos at Camp Croak is the latest book in the laugh-out-loud Ghost Scouts series.

Ian Mark is an author and part-time monster hunter living in Northern Ireland with his family and an indeterminate number of cats. With his partner, he has co-written adult thrillers under the pen name Ingrid Black. Monster Hunting for Beginners is his middle grade debut.

Jack Meggitt Phillips is an author, scriptwriter and playwright whose work has been performed at The Roundhouse and featured on Radio 4. His award-winning The Beast and the Bethany series has been translated into over 30 languages and is set to be a major film by Warner Brothers. Jack lives in north London where he spends most of his time drinking peculiar teas and reading PG Wodehouse novels.

Harriet Muncaster is one of the fastest-rising stars in children's books. She is the author and illustrator of the international bestselling Isadora Moon series. Victoria Stitch: Bad and Glittering is Harriet's debut middle-grade novel. For more information visit harrietmuncaster.co.uk.
