Outcomes

To provide new/aspiring *Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads with mandatory training; so that they have the knowledge and skills required to carry out their role as required by Keeping Children Safe in Education.

(*Please note that the DSL must be in a senior management position as required by KCSiE).

Dates/Times

The course is be held over 3 sessions:

1. 10th September 2025 - 10:00-12:00 (Online via Teams)

2. 17th September 2025 - 10:00-12:00 (Online via Teams)

3. 23rd September 2025 - 09:30-13:00 (Face to Face: Guildhall, Shrewsbury, SY3 8HB)

Joining requirements

Before completion of this course; delegates must have completed Raising Awareness level child safeguarding training within the last 3 years.

To gain full certification; all sessions must be attended for the full duration and a gap task must be completed before the final session. Please ensure that you can connect to Microsoft Teams with a microphone and camera function for sessions 1 and 2.

Cancellation policy:

All non-attendance and short notice cancellations will be charged at the standard course/event fee rate.

Short notice cancellation is classed as any cancellation received less than seven days before the course/event date.

You’re welcome to substitute delegates or transfer them to a future course/event of the same type at short notice.
