This recital celebrates the vocal music of Franz Schubert, with 16 of the movements from his greatest and most popular ong cycle 'Die Winterriese'. Die Winterriese is a song cycle for voice and piano setting 24 poems by German poet Wilhelm Müllerin. The cycle consists of a monodrama from the point of view of the wandering protagonist through a desolate winter landscape, both literal and metaphorical, after being rejected in love.
