How old do I have to be to attend the screening and workshop?

You have to be 15 years old or over.

Can I sign up for both workshops or only one?

Accepted Answer

You can sign up for both workshops. The 14th July covers storytelling, the 24th July covers production and post-production.

Can I go and see The Silent Messenger twice?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can. When you sign up for the workshops (14th and 24th July), you automatically sign up for the screening. On both days, the film will be shown at 11am.

Are the two workshops on 14th and 24th July different?

Accepted Answer

Yes, they are. On 14th July, you will learn about storytelling. On 24th July, you will learn about production and post production techniques.

Question 5

Do I need to know about filmmaking to attend the screening or workshops?

Accepted Answer

No, you do not need any experience in filmmaking to attend. If you want to see "The Silent Messenger" and want to know how we put it together, you can join us. Curiosity is enough.

I can't afford to come to the Playhouse, what should I do?

Accepted Answer

We have a small budget and can reimburse your bus ticket (up to £5) on the day. Just let us know on the day and bring your ticket. The event is free for all.

Are the screening and workshop free?

Yes, the screening and workshops are free to attend. You just need to register via eventbrite so we know how many people to expect.

Will there be lunch?

Yes, there will be a free lunch provided from 1-2pm (after the screening).

Do I need to sign up for the workshops separately.

Yes, you do. There is a registration link for the workshop on 14th July (storytelling) and a link for the workshop on 24th July that covers production and post-production.

What will I learn in the storytelling workshop on 14th July?

Accepted Answer

You will learn how to generate ideas and use what you have already access to to tell an exciting story. You will learn how to keep an audience on the edge of their seats using the storytelling techniques of filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, Christopher Nolan,Tarantino.

Can I ask the filmmakers a question after the screening?

Yes, that is why they are there. They are looking forward to answering any question you have about how they made the Silent Messenger. All questions welcome - from writing to production to post-production.

Will the filmmakers be there?

Accepted Answer

Yes, they will be there for the Q&A and they will also run the workshops.
