Are the two workshops the same?

No, they are not. The workshop on 14th July covers storytelling techniques. The workshop on 24th July covers the film production and post-production process.

Can I come to both workshops or only one?

You can come to both workshops. Both cover different things. The 14th July covers storytelling. The 24th July covers the film production process. You need to sign up via the two eventbrite links.

When is the film screening?

Accepted Answer

The Silent Messenger will be screened twice, before each workshop, on 14th July and 24th July, always from 11-1 (including a Q&A).

Will there be lunch?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There will be free lunch provided on both workshop days (1-2pm) after the screening (11-1pm) and before the workshops (2-4.30pm).

Is the screening and workshop free?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The whole day is free to attend. The lunch is also free. You will also receive a free graphic novel on filmmaking at the end of the day.

I can't afford to come to the Playhouse, what should I do?

We can reimburse you for up to £5 for your bus or train ticket. You need to bring your ticket/receipt on the day.

Can I come to see The Silent Messenger twice?

Yes, if you sign up for the workshop, you also sign up for the screening. The film will be shown on 14th and 24th July from 11-1pm.

What will I learn in this production workshop on 24th July?

Accepted Answer

You will learn about what you need to tackle your film's production. You will learn how to do rehearsals, walkthroughs and blocking of a scene. You will learn about how to direct actors. You will learn how to cover a scene, record sound, light a scene. You will learn about the power of music.

Will the filmmakers be there?

Yes, the filmmakers will be there in person for the Q&A after the screening and they will run both workshops as well.

Can I ask the filmmakers a question about their film at the Q&A

Accepted Answer

Yes, that is why they are there. They are looking forward to answering any question you have about how they made the Silent Messenger. All questions welcome - from writing to production to post-production.
