Science and health journalists meet STEM press officers
Event Information
Description
Stempra, ABSW and MJA summer event: Building bridges for excellence in science and health coverage
Are you a reporter wanting to build contacts or review evidence in an unfamiliar research area? Or are you a newly-started science press officer needing to develop your confidence or to get inspiration – and get to know journalists?
Press officers have great stories to give and journalists need great stories to write. This is a chance to get together over some drinks and nibbles to see how we can better collaborate.
Good science reporting requires knowledge and experience that you might be willing to share. Or you might be interested to meet tech-savvy innovators who are pushing new platforms or ways of communicating. An informal drinks event can be a great way to share advice and ideas. You can ask the questions you really want to ask, meet others working in the same field, say what’s been bothering you, find new sources for research findings or learn about potential new outlets for your stories.
