Event description

Description

Tesco have recently announced their ambitious Science-Based Target for emissions reduction committing the company to limiting global warming to a 1.5°C. They join 265 global organisations who recognise that what is good for the environment is good for business.

All of them would attest to the fact that committing to a Science-Based Target is major undertaking. Getting internal buy-in and setting your target are the first hurdles, and then there is the process for achieving ambitious targets over an extended period.

Carbon Credentials are pleased to announce that Science-Based Targets: from Theory to Practice will feature both Tesco and SBTi explaining the process and journey to the long-term commitment and delivery of a Science-Based Target for your organisation.

The key objectives for the event will be:

  • How to get an internal commitment to setting a SBT – the importance of senior management buy-in and company-wide engagement
  • Defining the approval process, the requirements and challenges of going through SBTi approval
  • Your target has been set, so now what? Going about how you can achieve it, problems and solutions.

Our guest speakers to discuss these objectives will be:

  • Christina Downend, Climate Change Manager of Tesco
  • Pedro Faria, Technical Director at CDP
  • Jane Baptist, Assistant Head of Sustainability at The Crown Estate

Who should attend?

This event will be of most value to anyone whose organisation is in the process of setting an SBT or wishing to start the process.

Please note: This event is by invitation only. If you have not been invited you may be turned away. If you wish to confirm an invitation first please get in contact here.
