----------------

We're excited to announce the one-day intensive online workshop on Science Communication and Public Engagement, designed specifically for professionals in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths or Medicine (STEMM) or Healthcare, who want to develop or enhance their skills and knowledge in this field.

In this Introduction to Science Communication and Public Engagement course, we will explore the basics of science communication, public engagement, and the important role they play in society. You will learn basic principles of science communication and explore how different audiences might interpret a scientific concept. With your peers in this course, you will learn and devise easy-to-understand strategies that are useful to help a lay audience understand complex ideas in your field.

In today's world, it's vital for professionals to be able to communicate their research/work/ expertise effectively to the public. It helps to curb the spread of false scientific news or myths, enhance the professional's career profile, positively impact the knowledge and awareness of the public and inspire the younger generation, who see and hear from professionals who look and talk like them.

This intimate and intensive workshop will help you do just that! Start you off on your journey towards strengthening your communication and public engagement skill set.

This e-workshop will be conducted by Dr Orode Aniejurengho (MRSB AET MRes BSc ), an experienced award-winning Scientist, Trainer and active Science communicator who has 10+ years of experience communicating science to academic and non-academic audiences across different age groups. In addition to hands-on experience in designing and executing science communication, scientific writing and public engagement events for different audiences in the UK and Nigeria.

At this workshop, you'll get hands-on training, practical tips, and advice that you can apply right away.

Here are some of the key topics we'll cover:

-The importance of science communication and public engagement
