Description

Coastal flooding remains one of the most significant risks that the UK faces. Join us on Monday 3rd July 2017 for a science evening in the Still and West Pub (http://www.stillandwest.co.uk), Old Portsmouth to hear from scientists on this important topic. The evening will start at 7pm, with 4 short talks (10 minute each): Dr Ivan Haigh from the University of Southampton will give a national overview of coastal flooding; Dr Matthew Wadey from the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership will talk about coastal flooding in the Solent region; Dr Sarah Percival, University of Portsmouth will discuss flood risk in Portsmouth; and Caroline Barford, from the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership will describe the new flood defence schemes planned for Portsmouth. Following the talks there will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
