In this Science Short, Prof Ben Willcox from the University of Birmingham will discuss a new wave of treatments that exploit the power of the immune system to treat patients' cancers. Such immunotherapies are starting to change the face of cancer treatment. Along the way, Ben will discuss the critical role our immune system plays in keeping us alive, why cancer represents such a challenge for the immune system, and why the next 10 years are likely to represent a 'golden age' for cancer immunotherapy.
