Description

Spitfire: Fighting to Preserve Birmingham’s Heritage for the Future with Lizzie Miller, Object Conservator at Birmingham Museums Trust
Tuesday 6 December
6 – 7pm
John Lee Theatre
The Spitfire Gallery at Thinktank represents a small window into the history of the people, the places and the plane itself through the artefacts that were involved in Birmingham’s wartime manufacture. The conservation team at BMT were a fundamental part in enabling these artefacts to be on public display. This talk will look at the role of the conservator within BMT, and how they participated in the planning, preparation, installation and long term care of the Spitfire Gallery.
