Join us as we explore light and shadows! Learn how scientists can study missing light to find out what stars are made of, before making your own shadow puppet theatre and writing your own space detective story! Get super creative as we explore science, space and shadows in this hands-on interactive workshop.
Afterwards you can take home your shadow puppet theatre to continue telling and making stories.
This is a free science workshop for families with children aged 7 - 11 in the White City area. An adult must stay for the duration of the session.

Frequently asked questions
We are a short walk from White City and Wood Lane tube stations. Turn right as you leave the station and walk up Wood Lane. The Invention Rooms will be on your right hand side. We are served by bus routes 72, 95, 220, 272, 283. Northbound bus stop N is currently closed due to roadworks.
Parking is only available for blue badge holders or those with access requirements. Please contact the team before the event to request a space. There is no general parking at the venue or the surrounding roads. The closest paid for parking is the Westfield shopping centre.
The venue is on the ground floor and all one level. There is step free access to the venue via a ramp at Entrance B on Wood Lane.
At The Invention Rooms you'll find an accessible toilet with baby change facilities and free drinking water. A quiet space and prayer space are available, please speak to the venue management team. We can provide handouts printed in large font on pastel paper upon request.
