Description

Science Through Stories - Jules Pottle

We are hard wired for stories. For thousands of years, people have taught their children abut the world through the oral tradition of storytelling. Science is part of that world and science can feature in a story.

To be truly effective the story must be very engaging. If you care about the characters in a story then you care about the science that affects them - you engage with the science because you engage with the characters. A story can also provide a context for some concepts that can feel quite abstract until you see how they are important in the world - the water cycle seems more important (and more memorable) when a character is thirsty and survival is dependent on that process.

Jules will be telling stories with science at their heart. Come and hear a story and find out more about Science Through Stories.
