Description

Delivered by Duncan Yellowlees

One of the most valuable skills in business is being able to get your ideas, value and messaging across to other people. Presentations are a fabulously powerful way to do this and when done well can build visibility, trust and relationships - things which are crucial when working in sectors like the process industry. In complex sectors like this, positive, effective communication to multiple partners and stake holders is key.

Duncan will explore some of the blocks to communication success and suggest techniques and tools which can help you get your messages across to any of the various audiences within the process Industry. You will also explore aspects of communication and engagement including, message, audience, and emotional Vs logical engagement, as well as looking at structure and techniques for storytelling. You will learn about emotional engagement, consider how to vary communication to suit different audiences, gain understanding as to why storytelling is so powerful and finally spend time writing a short business pitch for your process industry prospects utilising the techniques and ideas in the session.

With a Masters degree in science communication, combined with a passion for sharing his knowledge Duncan Yellowlees will ensure that this highly interactive, hands on workshop will improve confidence, communication and presentation skills to help you deliver polished pitches to win more business in the process sector.
