About this event

Join Clare from Willow Bough Tea Rooms for this two-hour workshop learning how to make traditional scones by hand in the traditional way. While your scones are baking participants will enjoy a cream tea and learn about the history of scones and whether to enjoy them with jam on cream or cream or jam.

Clare has been running Willow Bough Tea Rooms and Catering for almost a decade, using her grandmother's recipes and techniques to make her traditional cakes and afternoon teas.

Merton Abbey Mills is a corner of south west London with a fascinating history and connection to arts and crafts. Sitting on the River Wandle, once London’s hardest working river, Merton Abbey Mills was once home to Liberty’s Print Works, with William Morris’s textile and design company based just a short walk up the river (now Colliers Wood High Street). Today Merton Abbey Mills is full of creatives and independent businesses.
